What Are the Differences Between Mercedes-Benz Service A & B?

The Mercedes-Benz maintenance schedule is divided into two service intervals: Mercedes-Benz Service A and Mercedes-Benz Service B. If you received a notification through your Mercedes-Benz driver information center that you’re due for either of these services, the fact that there are two intervals can make things a little confusing. That’s why Mercedes-Benz of Escondido has put together this helpful guide. Read on to learn more about how the Mercedes-Benz Service A checklist and the Mercedes-Benz Service B checklist differ. We’ll also go over the differences between the Mercedes-Benz Service A cost and the Mercedes-Benz Service B cost.

What’s the Mercedes-Benz Service A Checklist?

Mercedes-Benz Service A* is performed after one year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. That said, San Diego drivers should note that the services performed may vary depending upon your model year. Service A includes the following services:

  • Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement**
  • Oil Filter Replacement**
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.

What’s the Mercedes-Benz Service B Checklist?

Mercedes-Benz Service B* is performed at 20,000 miles or 2 years, whichever comes first. When Escondido drivers divers take their vehicle in for a Mercedes-Benz Service B, they can expect the following services:

  • Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement**
  • Oil Filter Replacement**
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.

How Mercedes-Benz Service A and Service B Differ?

San Marcos drivers may have noticed that Mercedes-Benz Service A and Mercedes-Benz B are slight. There’s the time interval of course, but when it comes to actual services performed, there are only two major differences. Namely, during Service B, your vehicle will receive a brake fluid replacement and cabin air filter replacement.

Certain CLA and GLA AMG® models also receive an engine air filter replacement during Service B.
